Employability Points Scheme - a real opportunity for new blood in your business

Employability Points Scheme logoThis is an opportunity for you to join the University of Kent's top performing students, local and national business leaders and key stakeholders to celebrate the successes of the Employability Points Scheme at the annual Rewards Evening.

The Employability Points Scheme (EPS) bridges the gap between education and industry, and this event celebrates the highest achieving students, as well as the involvement of key sponsoring organisations.

Essentially, the EPS rewards students for their involvement in extra-curricular activities while they are studying at the University of Kent. Students can claim ‘Employability Points’ for each activity completed. Towards the end of each academic year, students can redeem their points for the chance to apply for rewards.

These rewards include paid internships, project placements, work experience, training, vouchers and much more, offered by businesses and organisations.

For external businesses or organisations, sponsoring the EPS gives them an opportunity to work closely with the University of Kent. Through the scheme, the companies gain access to highly skilled students, who can make a valuable contribution to the company and perhaps offer a fresh perspective. They can also give companies the chance to potentially meet corporate social responsibility agendas.

In 2015-16, over 6,700 students engaged with the scheme with 617 rewards available! The EPS was also nationally recognised in 2015 through being shortlisted for the second time for a Times Higher Education Award in the category, 'Outstanding Support for Students'.

The event will be held in Woolf College, Canterbury Campus on Tuesday 6th June 2017, arrival is at 5.30pm for a buffet and networking, with the ceremony itself starting at 6.30pm.
